If You Don't Know Rondo

What’s my name?
Rondooo
And who am I rollin’ with huh?
My Celticssss

For the most part Rajon Rondo was a relative unknown player amongst casual NBA fans. He was simply the guy who was in charge of getting the ball to the Boston Three Party. He was also the reason many experts decided the Celtics would be unsuccessful this season. Charles Barkley even picked the Nets to win the Atlantic, because Rondo wouldn’t be able to get the job done. As an avid Celtics fan I knew this wasn’t the case. The day the KG trade broke I immediately knew Big Al was gone, but I dreaded what the other parts may be. Gerald Green was another tough loss, but he is still way too raw of a talent. Low and behold we were able to keep Rondo! The Timberwolves actually caved and took Telfair. That wasn’t a steal for the C’s “It’s Murda’!” This was almost as exciting as the KG trade itself to me. Not only would we be able to watch one of the greatest players of all time, but we were able to keep one of the scrappiest, fastest, and poised point guards the Celtics have had since trading Chauncy Billups for Kenny Anderson.

This season he’s filling up the stat sheet, while leading the Green to a league best record. He has season high’s of 24 points, 6 steals, 12 rebounds and 16 assists. The improvement he’s showing is evident game to game and quarter to quarter, as he excels on both ends of the floor. His quickness on defense has opposing point guards off their guard and if they can’t remain poised; “Ya’ll gonna lose your mind up in here, up in here.” Rondo will use that same speed to carve himself a lane to the hoop on any defender, so “You better bring your whole crew, because it’s just a bigger piece of cake for him to chew a hole through.”

Rajon may only be in his sophomore season of the NBA but he’s experienced it all; "The hurt, the pain, the dirt, the rain, the jerk, the fame, the work, the game. The friends, the foes, the studios, and the shows."

Do yourself a favor and watch the way he plays, because it’s his job to
“Stop, drop, shut ‘em down open up shop.
Oh, noooo
That’s Rondo’s role.”

And if you don’t know Rondo.
Now You know.

As a big X fan, I love the DMX lyrics.

I think Rondo has been imperative to the Celts success, and I also think that how well he plays in the playoffs will determine how far the C's go. And with the home court advantage, they can tell everyone else to "Bring it! What! We Right Here!"

p.s. "the pain" photo is not available

Glad someone liked it! Thought I might have been the last X fan left.

Someone could probably write a whole sports related bio using DMX lyrics....Whenever Kemp drove through the lane you just knew that "Here comes the Boom!"

Would anyone buy it though? Probably not.
