Don Imus is Still A Nappy Headed Ho
Don Imus said on Tuesday that he was attempting to be sarcastic during an on-air conversation Monday about the arrests of Dallas Cowboys' cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, Imus asked, "What color is he?"
Announcer Warner Wolf said that Jones, who used to be nicknamed Pacman, is "African-American," Imus responded: "There you go. Now we know."
Carmelo Anthony Loves Drinking and Driving
Carmelo Anthony pleaded guilty today to drinking and driving on a reduced DUI charge and was sentenced to probation and community service.
He also pleaded guilty to failure to stay in a single lane (Does this look like the mug of some guy who knows how to stay in just one lane?). He was ordered to serve one year on probation, perform 24 hours of community service and pay $1,000 in fees and court costs.
MLB Power Rankings- Week 12 06/16/08
All apologies - we blew it. We did most of the teams, but had some hang-ups on finishing this article in light of a certain NBA team whipping the shizznat out of another NBA team. While we have some non-Sox and non-Pats fans in our midst (due to upbring, so it's excused), we are all Celtics fans, so productivity droppped to zero sometime Tuesday afternoon (and it wasn't that high to begin with due to Sunday night's Game 5). And it's tough to write about baseball when you're busy celebrating an NBA championship. Green 17 baby!
For purposes of this week, we have write-ups on performance but the rankings stayed the same. We apologize. If you don't like it, well, fuck you then and your NBA team sucks.
Javon Walker Found on a Vegas Street Corner
According to ESPN, and anyone who can speak, Javon Walker was found unconscious on the street corner in Las Vegas.
Local homeless man, Jeremy "The Ace" Tate, told reporters "What's the big deal? I wake up every day on this street corner. Look, I sleep right here. Can I have a dollar?"
10 Reasons Why The Celtics Will Win The NBA Finals!
Boston is up 2-1 over the Lakers and Game 4 is tonight in LA. The Celtics will win one of the next two games in LA and finish the series up in Boston and take home banner # 17. The Lakers shouldn't even bother to show up tonight because this series is already over. I know the Laker fans are going to piss and moan about this bold statement but the truth is the Celtics have this wrapped up and I'll tell you why.
10. Kobe Bryant had to score 36 points for the Lakers to barely pull off Game 3. Not an easy task to repeat 3 more times against the Celtic's defense.
Speed Dominates Fantasy Baseball
I found this article on ESPN and it got me thinking about how important a quality speed guy on your fantasy team has become. A top speed guy will get you a ton of runs, hits, average and most importantly stolen bases.
Far too many fantasy baseball managers go nuts over a guy with some pop in his bat and fail properly evaluate what a speedy guy can bring to their team. Let's take a look at some of the top speed guys in the league.
MLB Power Rankings- Week 8 - 05/19/08
Who were we to knock the Diamondbacks out of the top spot for one week? Obviously The Big-Unit found out and rallied the troops in Arizona for a 5-1 week. I knew we shouldn't have messed with that bowler's mullet. Anyway, the D-Backs are have regained the #1 spot in our rankings.
Did anyone notice that the Rays no longer have a triple A team? The Rays are sitting pretty atop the AL East while the New York Yankees are struggling at the bottom. I think we've just entered the twilight zone: Rays on top! Yankees on bottom! Anyone want to bet me that this will be a bit different come September?
MLB Fantasy Update- Breakout Season - 5/8/08
We're heading into our second week of May and some players are just screaming for some attention in our fantasy leagues. "PICK ME UP OR MAKE A TRADE FOR ME BECAUSE I'M HAVING A BREAK OUT YEAR BABY!"
1. Matt Kemp RF - Dodgers
AVG - .328 | HR - 3 | RBI - 25 | Runs - 19 | SB - 9
Matt Kemp has been on fire these past 2 weeks and is showing no signs of slowing down. He's hitting for average and he's stolen 8 bases in the past 9 games! Don't expect Kemp to steal 50 bases but he could be a 20 SB and 20 HR guy this year with a small chance to become a 30/30 guy down the road.
Two Female Blowup Dolls for the Chicago White Sox
In the middle of a strong 0-6 road trip the Chicago White Sox decided to celebrate in style with two female blowup dolls in Toronto before Sunday's game.
It is unclear at this time who positioned the two ladies, both naked, in the clubhouse with the player's bats surrounding them. It's rumored that this is a common ritual for the Chicago White Sox to get the team out of a slump.
