Donavan McNabb Fractures Rib. Will this lead to Michael Vick Starting Week 3?

Tagged:  •    •    •

Donavan McNabb did his best Jerome "The Bus" Bettis impersonation when scoring a rushing touchdown today against the Panthers. The only problem is McNabb is not a Bus and he fractured his rib trying. This will only fire the fuel of rumors of when Michael Vick will play. We know he can't play next week while he's finishing his 2 game suspension but if this rib becomes a problem for McNabb we may see Vick in week 3.

Brett Favre Week 1 Random Thoughts

Tagged:  •    •    •

I'm starting this at the beginning of the 2nd quarter but I've watched the whole game so far. I blame the new unstoppable pooping machine, also known as my puppy, for the late start.

1st Quarter - Nothing special from Brett. Peterson is the man in Minnesota right now.

2nd Quarter
12:15 - Great pass to Peterson. Leads to a rushing touchdown by Peterson, of course. Peterson is still the man and I haven't seen much from Brett yet.

Oh damn.. I just realized the guy I'm going against in fantasy football has Adrian Peterson. I feel like an assclown.

Polamalu Is the Steelers

Tagged:  •    •

The Steelers barely beat the Titans on Thursday. (13-10) in a game where Polamalu, leaving in the 2nd Quarter with a left medial collateral knee sprain that is expected to sideline him three to six weeks, had an interception and made great play after great play. He is the difference maker on the field and it was made clear when Kerry Collins ripped apart the defense for a 71-yard touchdown drive in the closing moments of the first half.

Quick Update

Sorry for lack of updates/content lately.

The few of us who dabble on this site have been busy with our real world jobs.

But we should have new articles coming soon. We will definitely have mid-season reports for MLB coming up at the All-Star break. Check out our MLB previews that we made before the season - not bad predictions, huh? Pretty close to what's happening so far.

As for today, kind of wild that Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett died today within 3 hours of each other, just two days after Ed McMahon passed. They say these things come in threes.

Suspension: To Drop or not to Drop that is the Question.

We all know about the drama behind the Manny Ramirez steroid suspension. How it may put a kybosh on the Dodgers dominance, and how it refreshed the shiner left on baseball by A-Rod. That’s great water cooler talk, but what difference does it make to Fantasy owners?

The Y Factor

Tagged:

The X Factor is the guy with the capability to control a game or series single-handedly based on his level of play. For our purposes in referencing the NBA playoffs, Ray Allen stands as the perfect example of the X factor. While a key player on the Celtics he is not the premier player on the team, but a hot or cold shooting night by him could be the difference between victory and defeat. Announcers and pre game analysts love to predict the X factor, but they never pick a Y factor. What/Who is the Y factor you ask? Well I’ll tell you.

MLB Preview 2009 - AL Central

AL Central Preview
You’d be lying to yourself if you were even 51% confident in any one of these team’s chances to win the World Series. There is no powerhouse and no weak link. This was the one division in baseball that didn’t have a team with less than 70 wins. The White Sox took the division by posting a 44-29 record in the Central. I’ll use some John Madden logic and say the team with the best record in the Central will again have the edge this year.

MLB Preview 2009 - AL East

AL East Preview
The AL East – baseball’s premier division. This division has arguably the best three teams in baseball in the Red Sox, Yankees and Rays. It’s a shame that at least one of them will miss the playoffs. This expert predicts that whichever two make it, those two will meet in the ALCS because they’re just that much more superior to the rest of the American League. I’m also willing to bet that whichever team misses out will be a much better team than the AL Central and AL West winners. Without further ado … the AL “Beast” preview.
